Narea Son
In the 2026/27 season, Korean soprano Narea Son appears at the Hamburg State Opera, where she has been an ensemble member since 2019, as Musetta (La bohème), Oscar (Un ballo in maschera), Jemmy in Tobias Kratzer’s new production of Rossini’s Guillaume Tell, and Biggi in the world premiere of Gordon Kampe’s Störtebeker. She also returns to the Bavarian State Opera as Clorinda (La Cenerentola) and appears as Luisa (Luisa Miller) at the Seoul Arts Center with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
In recent seasons, Son’s roles at the Hamburg State Opera have included Nannetta (Falstaff), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), the title role in Luisa Miller, Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Micaëla (Carmen), and Das Lichte Mädchen in the world premiere of Unsuk Chin’s Die dunkle Seite des Mondes. She also made her house debut at the Korea National Opera in Seoul as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro.
